This weekend saw the Mayor of Hounslow, Councillor Samia Chaudhary, visit New Chiswick Pool to celebrate the official opening of the pool following an extensive refurbishment. She was also joined by Councillor Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council and Councillor Sue Sampson, Cabinet Member for Leisure Services.

The open day celebrations on Saturday 4th August included something foreveryone no matter what age. The fun packed schedule featured outdoor games, health assessments, colouring competitions, a spin challenge and studio taster sessions and a float frenzy session in the pool, complete with a disco!

Works to the pool have included the pool tank being fully relined, the walls of the pool being re-tiled, new tiles laid to surround the pool and new lighting in the pool hall.  The pool changing area has been refreshed too, it has been newly decorated and improved lighting has been installed.

The gym at New Chiswick Pool, operated by leisure charity, Fusion Lifestyle, has also been redecorated.

Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Mayor of Hounslow, said: "It was a pleasure to join in the celebrations and I'm delighted we've been able to invest in our sports and leisure facilities so that members and visitors can make the most of the opportunities they offer. The changes made to the pool and surrounding area make it a truly inviting place for people to spend time and get active."
